Racial and Ethnic Profiling - Summary

In our efforts to fight crime, and more recently the threat of terror, racial profiling has become commonplace in America. President Bush has emphasized the negative consequences of such actions and several bills to stop racial profiling are currently under consideration by the U.S. Congress.

NCCJ has taken a lead in a national effort to educate police and government agencies to stop the proliferation of racial profiling. The future health of our country depends on removing the bias, bigotry and racism from our civilization, reducing fear and stopping the marginalization of minority populations.
